My little experience
Well, in the school we had a really interesting programme about ecology in my grade.
We took the (little) river which "runs" through our city in Germany and we had to take water in tubes, to do chemical tests and see how polluted or which minerals were contained in it..
It wasn't nothing special..BUT made me realize how less our resources of clean water we have.
I always think about it, how much we have left..and I'm scared that a day we will end up without water.
That's why I want to change things and hope that we all can really contribute to change something..

comenius
last year i took part in the comenius project. the topic was water: memory and future heritage.
i went to spain and then i hosted the guys from spain. we had some meeting together. we listened the important ecologists.
that was a good memory and an experience for me.
Greenlinks
One local project I co-ordinated as Assistant Head of School some years back was entitled Greenlinks. It was a European Project worked with schools in Italy, Spain, Belgium, Estonia and Romania.
Basically as the theme suggests it was about sustainability and the students had to make the community aware about energy saving, reducing waste and saving on water.
Green links with these schools lasted three years and hopefully the impact the project created had a lasting effect on the students and their families, on the staff and all who were in touch with the school.
A calendar was also produced at the end with sustainable ideas.
