Nature is a creation of God. God created along with humans and animals, plants, mountains, lakes, oceans etc. and has asked people to respect and appreciate the nature. God has repeatedly stated the importance of nature for the people. Many times in the Bible, nature plays an important role in the evolution of human history. Many natural disasters have caused problems on biblical people's life and many times the nature has contributed to change or improve a situation.
So, what should be the position of the Church in relation to the problem we are facing with the water nowadays? Should the Church care about the disaster? Is it necessary the Church contributes to the information and awareness of believers on the situation? Has the Church the power to help, even a while?

Interesting idea
In my opinion it is a very interesting thing that you suggest. The church could most deffinetly help out. I mean, the priest could say every time in the mass to do that and that, to pay attention to water, and give other pieces of advice. There is only one problem that I have more recently noticed among my generation. I myself am a believer, but there are so many people who stopped going to church, or altogether believing in God. It is a sad but unhappy thought. The majority of people who attend masses are the elders ones, who already did what they could for this world. So what can be done concerning the younger ones?

I agree with many of you.The Church has great influence on the believers. For example I post Lent, which lasts 40 days, and ends on the Christmas, and all this time I can only drink water and wine. This is a big plus for my health, and more physically and mentally cleansed. The Church can help much
The church can help with this
The church can help with this to make people believe in hope and to encourage them to think of good things! To think in a way that would help in various ways. To do good things!

Yes, the church has a big influence on a lot of people. Unfortunately nobody could make these people to think in different way - to save water and to protect the nature. Everything should start from us ourselves.

religious institutions have important role
Hello!
I think not just the Church, but all religions have a word to say about water and environmental issues in general.
Nature is, according to religious texts, a creation of God. Also, religions pray love and respect towards all living things. So it's all Men's duty to preserve God's creation. Also, religions pray about a modest, non-consumist life, which oposes to waste and greed.
So, I think the envolving of religious institutions is important to help preserve the Environment, as it deeply influences believers, specially the older or more conservative people.
Of course religious freedom must be above all of this.
I think the Church cares
I think the Church cares about the problem, but it cannot rally help. Yes, the theory is that the Earth is a creation of God, but we cannot just wait Him to help, can we?
Another perspective...
I think there is a similar attitude to this problem in every religion. For example, extravagance is forbidden in Islam. It is told in mosques that water or any other thing must not be wasted. Moreover, citizens pray for rain in the event of drought with a religious functionary.
Do you understand that we need everybody who is able to help ?
Do you understand that we need everybody who is able to help ? No matter if it´s church, school or any other institution. No matter if´s a financial support or any other kind of support, we need to discuss about the water crisis and then we have to act so everyone who is able and wants to help should be admired. We simply need help.

Yes, the church can give the financial support, and do something good and useful unlike what it did in the past centuries.

The Church? Isn't it a wholly distinctive are? I think what God have said is something really abstract and unsure. You didn't hear it, did you? So.. you can not be sure about the authenticity. But you can encourage the local population, you can make them realise that water depends on their mistakes. But that's something else.
To my mind...
I don't think there is a link between water and Church.
Water is a problem of society and Church only impacts Christian..
Even if ''God creates water'' according to the religion, I believe he's not involved in this problem. Furthemore, Church has no enough money.
Nonetheless, it's a good question to ask.
Do you think that the
Do you think that the generation nowadays is so religious? Only older generation thinks so but they cannot change the world because they do not have so much life time and the younger generation have to solve the problems. Who of YOU would think: " Oh, the Pope says that we should care about the amount of waters we use. Therefore I begin to change something how I use it." Churches have influence. Oh yes, I agree. But the influence gets smaller and smaller because people have education and can think on their own.
Church's influence
This issue is up for everyone, church members as well. Church had always have a good part of our lives, on our society, on everything. We all must care, and church as well!
Church should have a positive position on this, care about water, and face this problem as something really important!
Maybe Church could improve some campaign to alert people for the importance of water and how to safe it.
Besides, church has influence so it may really work out!
@Claire_F
Yes, of course the church could support the research but I think that church could bring this topic (water) to people who are not very interested in and they don´t know much about the water crisis. In general all the religions are basically the same, they teach people how to live, this very important because in some countries the churches still have quite big influence on people and that would be a task for pastors to explain and speak about this serious problem in churches and persuade people to change their behaviour.
CHURCH??
I ask this question : What could the Church do? I know that maybe it could give money to the research center, but what more? Church could help but wouldn't be powerful enough to solve the problem entirely.
I think church could help
I think church could help sometimes.I know that´s not enough but it´s better than nothing. I still believe that there are many people which could change their minds about water saving because of church.
Definitely no
I do not think that Church has a big influence nowadays. People get less religious. Churches also should not capitalize on using religion to persuade people. Every person should rely on himself/herself and should not justify his/her acts with his/her religion.
Moreover, I hate it when Church interferes into topics they do not belong to. Science and religion are seperated. It is good like that.
I think that the Church has
I think that the Church has the power to help... and they do help... But it is up to individuals if they do so. It is enough to read Holy Bible and we will see that God wants us not to pollute the environment, his creation, something he made for us... so the aspect of individual and of his beliefs is important. Even when the Church says "You´ve got to save the water, because it is God creation..." it won´t help sometimes. Once again, it is individual´s choice. At least, from my point of view.
I think that Church should do
I think that Church should do something and Church has a power to change something. But problem is that only few people are thinking about our planet and water. And only these few people can do something together. Some Churches are now doing something, some not, but the main power have people, we!
