ESP's picture

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new edition of the European Science Parliament!

We are looking for a topic, which the ESP 2010 shall adopt as focal theme during online discussions and during the Conference, which takes place in March 2010. Don't worry, because the time until then will be filled with a lot of work.

We need a topic first, which shall be of European scale, controversial and - of course, captivating! We want all generations, European countries and professions to be able to contribute to the topic.

Second, we need to consolidate our knowledge about that topic and we have got plenty of tools to undertake that.

Afterwards, the most enthusiastic disputants, with some respect to the geoghraphic distribution, will be invited to attend the ESP Conference in Aachen. Here, the aim is to formulate a statement together with the other participants, which is later forwarded to EU-Institutions as a recommendatory portrayal of opinions.

Needless to say that the ESP provides all necessary assistance to achieve that aim. Right now, do not think about organisational stuff, because we will come up with that in time.

Think about what impressed you most in yesterday's news or what you last discussed with your close friends, just because you were so concerned about it. Maybe you heard or read something in a book or blog during work or class. Maybe that is the focal topic of the ESP 2010.....

Should you have questions, why not post them right below!
Thank you for your attention and see you soon!

Your Organisation Team

ESP 2010

As the economy isn't exactly doing too well, this would mean that the governments around the world would have to spend less money on renewable energy sources(such as solar and wind power). I think that the topic for ESP 2010 could easily be about how we can combat this. As we all know, the world will become barren and virtually distroyed in the next 100 years if global warming isn't stopped now. If we don't make more of an effort NOW then there won't be much point of "saving the earth" as there will be no hope. Already flood counts are increasing. Where will it stop?
