How should the world we leave to the next generations look like? Our world should be a livable place for them just as it is for us today. Still our life already depends heavily on the possibility to produce and use energy and the necessary resources are running short, become more expensive and more demanded. The expected increase of the world population will only intensify this situation. When natural resources will be entirely wasted in the future, energy will solely be accessible for small parts of the world population. Possible consequences are wars over natural resources and the access to energy, a huge growth of energy prices, exclusion of large parts of the world population from modern life by missing energy and an increase of poverty. Therefore we already have to ask today how to ensure the produation and usage of energy for future generations. This includes the responsible use of natural resources to extend their estimated service life and the inclusion of alternative energy recovery methods. The fair distribution of the emission reduction burden on industrialized countries as well as threshold and third-world countries is a further aspect. What is your opinion? Share your ideas with us!!
