Comment on water responsability and privatization

Hello everybody!! My name is Felicia Vilasi and I attend the fourth class at the scientific lyceum "Leonardo Da Vinci" in Reggio Calabia,Italy.
With regard to water problem,I think that privatising water would absolutely be a great mistake, because it is a vital resource for the sustenance of every human being. That’s why I think that this important problem could be solved, first of all, making aware European and North-American States inhabitants of the problems of water supply in order to reduce its enormous waste.
For these reasons, the objectives our project wants to achieve are:
1. A major responsibility in water consumption
2. Making people aware that water privatization is an infringement of economically and politically disadvantaged populations’ rights.
3. Making people aware that climatic changes have a global relapse, so each population of the planet will suffer the consequences.
The project intends to realize an awareness campaign about “water problem”, which has political, economical as well as social relapses, not only on the Third World populations,but also on common citizens.
In Italy, water is quite expensive, but it is a primary good and it should have more affordable costs for everyone.
I hope you will answer me soon and add your considerations about the matter.

The proportion of people in developing countries with access to safe water is calculated to have improved from 30% in 1970 to 71% in 1990, 79% in 2000 and 84% in 2004. This trend is projected to continue To halve, by 2015, the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water is one of the Millennium Development Goals. This goal is projected to be reached.

The UN World Water Development Report (WWDR, 2003) from the World Water Assessment Program indicates that, in the next 20 years, the quantity of water available to everyone is predicted to decrease by 30%. 40% of the world's inhabitants currently have insufficient fresh water for minimal hygiene. More than 2.2 million people died in 2000 from waterborne diseases (related to the consumption of contaminated water) or drought. In 2004, the UK charity WaterAid reported that a child dies every 15 seconds from easily preventable water-related diseases.

There is a clear correlation between access to safe water and GDP per capita. However, some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based vulnerability. A recent report (November 2009) suggests that by 2030, in some developing regions of the world, water demand will exceed supply by 50%. Water plays an important role in the world economy, as it functions as a solvent for a wide variety of chemical substances and facilitates industrial cooling and transportation. Approximately 70% of freshwater is consumed by agriculture."

I believe that these figures are rather alarming. I believe that the future prognosis clearly shows that it is virtually impossible for governments to supply their citizens with fresh water without the involvement of the private sector if this tendency continues. The problem is that the private sector will not cooperate with the governments without proper payment. That's why it is important to support these efforts through international cooperation. I believe it would also help if the public was more aware of all of these facts and figures.

To my point of view, the distribution of water must be public and the politics of corporations like the compagnie française des eaux or others pose a very great problem for the worldwide provision of water for everyone and includes risks of wars due to provision of the water to countries close-by: To speculate with water is twice as much criminal as to do this money or oil.

Realistics Facts

Dear Colleagues,

The Water being the most vital Element which is, is the object of all the attention of all the servicemen of the world, and of the militaro-industrial transcontinental group which wants a world government.

Us, the scientists who like our profession, and who have a certain idea of the World Community of the Peoples, we cannot guarantee for such practices, in a world which the goods everything and anything.

The difficulties met by the scientists who privilege their Freedom Fundamental, are enormous and of diverse nature, quite made by those who refuse that their results and profits benefit most possible large number of individuals or country which would not be under the influence of such or such transnational group.

To illustrate in a relevant way my comments, I am going to expose you three manners certain States of which tried to muzzle me personally, the first one being to try to désinformer my friends and some of those who finance me in everyday life, the second being to try to refrain from coming to the Congress of Aächen, the last one being the general disinformation on is him saying "global warming" and the Conference of Copenhagen of which was a fiasco. I am going to publish it in three well separated texts, on the forum " Water and Politics ".

In mind of the politics, the control of the sources of approvionnement some pure Water is a major stake. The possibility of producing some at once consumable pure Water in unlimited quantities is extremely disturbing them as long as they did not acquire this possibility at any price

To Aächen, We shall propose to the world and European community, the provision of any means of production of the Water and the Energy, such as I have already sketched it in Conference Internationale of ICENES on 2009, in costs ridiculously low, so that all, States and private Individuals can take advantage of it.
