Data Protection
The Europan Science Parliament commits to protecting your privacy. However, transmission of personal information is to some extent necessary in order to conduct participation in the European Science Parliament. What is personal data?
Personal information is information that is associated with your personal identity. This includes information such as your real name, address, mailing address, and telephone number.
Which information is collected and why?
Upon registration with the website, the ESP collects personal information about the user, such as the name, address and institution the user is related to. Neither of these can be accessed publicly. Other registered users may access this information. The website of the ESP is a communication platform and we want to enable the users to inform themselves to whom they are speaking. In addition to that, we ask for your email-address, which will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail. For communication means, each user chooses a nickname, which can be accessed publicly. Any content uploaded by the user (i.e. articles in the forum) can either be accessed publicly. Submission of any of this information takes place voluntarily. It is prohibited for third parties to use the contact information as well as e-mail addresses which are published in the area for registered users or in the imprint in order to transmit information which was not requested expressly. The right to take legal measures against senders of so-called spam mails is expressly reserved if this prohibition is violated. If you choose not to submit your information, you will not be able to participate in the ESP, although you may read forum articles and therefore inform yourself what the ESP is doing. Please note that the ESP is not responsible for privacy policies of other websites. In our discussions it is however possible, that links to pages with inadequate privacy policies occur.
What happens to my personal data?
Your personal information is stored in order to conduct participation in the ESP. It will furthermore be used to contact and address you in matters related to the ESP. Personal information is not given to any third parties. It will especially not be sold to third parties or passed on for advertising (or any other) purposes. Personal information will be disclosed on order of a court of law, if requested by investigating authorities or for evidence purposes.
